
For Initial Licensure
Licensees are required to submit proof of completion of the following continuing education (CE) upon initial licensure:
- Two (2) hour course relating to prevention of medical errors
Licensees initially licensed are exempt from the CE requirements for their first renewal with the exception of:
- Two (2) hour course relating to prevention of medical errors
- Three (3) hours of HIV/AIDS
All credit hours must be earned within the biennium period for which they are claimed.
For Renewal of License Following Initial Renewal
Every licensee must complete 30 hours of approved CE within the biennium for which they are claimed. The requirements are:
- Two (2) hour course relating to prevention of medical errors
- Two (2) hours of Florida Laws and Rules
- Five (5) hours of Biomedical Sciences
- Twenty-one (21) hours of general CE
Continuing education programs relating to laboratory tests and imaging findings will be considered as biomedical sciences.
