About Us
The Diabetes Prevention and Control Program (DPCP) was created in July of 1997. The DPCP's Mission is to promote the highest standards available for the care, management and treatment of diabetes. Our goal is to reduce the burden of diabetes and the health-related complications of Floridians with diabetes by improving the access to, and quality of, diabetes care.
We work within the health system. We coordinate with County Health Departments, Health Maintenance Organizations, Managed Care Organizations, hospitals, and a wide array of medical providers.
We work for changes in the system. The DPCP works for changes in legislation, policy, protocols, and administrative procedures that improve the quality of, and access to, diabetes care within health systems.
